Community Organizing
Calendario
Community Organizing is a way to achieve social change through collective action for the benefit of the Hispanic community and the general community. At Progreso Community Center (PCC), we believe that the people affected by an issue are capable of identifying needs and taking actions to achieve solutions.
PCC constantly listens to the concerns and needs of Hispanic community members to determine together when community organizing efforts are needed to address specific issues.
Since its founding, PCC has continued to grow, with around 160 registered (Hispanic) members, and around 50 registered (non-Hispanic) allies.
PCC holds monthly membership meetings in which members participate in planning and vote to make decisions about PCC activities.
Civic Engagement and Advocacy - PCC communicates with authorities at local, state and national levels to raise awareness of important issues affecting the Hispanic community.
